The first party came the Socialist party of Catalonia with 23% now holding 33 seats in the local parliament.

The Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC-PSOE) received 23.0% achieving its best electoral performance since 2006 and this is due to the selection of Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez in the face of former Health Minister Salvador Illa, who led the Socialist party in Catalonia.

by Thanos S. The element also highlighted in this election is that for the first time they hold a majority in seats in the Catalan Parliament and in the electorate respectively the three parties representing the separatists who support holding a referendum with the aim of Catalonia becoming an independent state.

The three separatist parties oppose the Socialists seeking to maintain the unity of Spain rather than the autonomy of Catalonia.

These three parties received: ERC (The Republican left of Catalonia) 21.3% and 33 seats, Junts per Catalonia (Together for Catalonia) 20.1% and 32 seats, CUP (The Popular Unity Candidacy) 6.7% and 9 seats hold control of the Catalan Parliament and most of the electorate. The other parties occupied Vox 7.7% and 11 seats, ECP-PEC 6.9% and 8 seats, Cs 5.6% and 6 seats, PP 3.8% and 3 seats.

How does this new unstable political scene of maintaining Spain’s unity now translate?

1. The strengthening of separatists in both electoral and electoral percentage as well as in seats.

2. Change of leadership in the parties that lead Catalonia’s autonomy. In 201 center-left ERC party takes the place of the right-wing Junts per Catalonia. Catalonia’s centre-left is seen as conciliatory in its approach and maintains good relations with Spain’s government.

3. The Socialists are now Catalonia’s great political force leading the conservation unity of Spain.

4. The far-right Vox party is the right-wing political wing of Catalonia and is in favour of the unity of Spain, something that the Socialists will exploit for the formation of the Government of Catalonia.

Spain’s Socialist party by increasing Catalonia’s self-government within Spain will find its allies Vox and the ERC and could be able to prevent a referendum that would lead to Catalonia’s secession and the creation of an independent state.

Spain’s economy manages to cope with Covid-19 recession

Due to the covid-19 pandemic, Spain’s economy is under tough and constant testing. Its GDP followed a significant growth path until the onset of the pandemic. More specifically, its GDP grew for 2017 (4.31%), 2018 (3.64%), 2019 (3.36%) and 2019 (3.36%). and in 2020 experienced a recession (-10%). The recession of -10% for 2020 is due to public spending to tackle the pandemic and reduce tax revenues.

The current account balance is consistently in surplus from 2017 to 2019. General government annual debt moved steadily below 100% as a percentage of GDP in 2017 (98.6%), 2018 (97.4%), 2019 (95.5%), (Source: Eurostat https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/teina225/default/table?lang=en 28/02/2021) 2020 (117%) (Source: IMF). For 2020 the drastic increase in general government annual debt as a percentage of GDP is due to the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Spanish government expects dynamic growth over the next three years and the creation of 800000 new jobs, due to the financial support that the Spanish economy will receive with €140bn attributable to Spain from the European Recovery Fund.

The advantages of Spain are that 23% of its GDP is formed by the industrial sector. These strong advantages are attributed by the markets to the Spanish economy by offering an extremely low lending rate of 0.33% (23/02/2021 for the issue of the ten-year Spanish bond).

We strongly recommend that investors invest in government bonds and generally invest in the development of the Spanish economy.

The result of the parliamentary elections in Catalonia on 14 February 2021 showed a net change in the electorate in favour of Catalan separatists…

[818,390
2428,1983,779,1532,2430,2429,998
post-4167","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-europe","category-politics","tag-catalonia","tag-economy","tag-elections","tag-pandemic","tag-separatists","tag-socialists","tag-spain
["GET
