In Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva defeated Flávio Bolsonaro—the candidate of the neo-conservative right, who is fully aligned with the pro-Zionist United States.

This victorious movement can be interpreted as a genuine triumph for national sovereignty against Western imperialism and immense Zionist influence.

It reflects the growing power of the BRICS and of a multipolar world. Voters sent a clear message: the nation belongs to its people, not to foreign centers of power or to the politicians who seek their approval.

[BRICS is an international political organization of leading emerging markets, comprising ten countries: Brazil, Russia, India, the People’s Republic of China, and South Africa, as well as Egypt, Ethiopia, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. The term is derived from the initial letters of the countries’ names (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa).]

The elections in Brazil posed a direct challenge to Washington’s ambitions in Latin America. President Lula garnered 51.79% of the vote, defeating Bolsonaro—whose political alliances aligned with the increasingly pro-Israel, “neoconservative” trajectory of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu’s Zionist aspirations for a “Greater Israel.” Bolsonaro explicitly promised closer ties with Israel and suggested that Brazil should reconsider its position within the BRICS. Netanyahu openly welcomed his candidacy, hoping for a Brazilian government more favorably disposed toward Zionist interests.

The “leftist” Lula advocated a different path. He unequivocally condemned Israel’s genocidal conduct in Gaza, staunchly defended the rights of the Palestinians, and insisted that Brazil must never become a “backyard” for America.

Consequently, his victory represented a clear defeat for the political alliance between Washington and the Zionist government in Jerusalem. Brazilian voters rejected a candidate who would have almost certainly aligned their country’s foreign policy more closely with American and Zionist priorities.

Lula’s significance extends far beyond his confrontation with Bolsonaro. Brazil is a founding member of the BRICS, and its continued participation bolsters the effort to build an international order in which Washington cannot dictate the terms of every international relationship.

Through the BRICS, Brazil collaborates with Russia, China, India, South Africa, and other nations that seek greater autonomy in trade, finance, and diplomacy. This, of course, does not mean that Lula has severed ties with the West, nor that he intends to do so.

It means that he refuses to accept the American claim to permanent hegemony over the rest of the world. His patriotism is rooted in the Left, yet his core demand is something that patriots everywhere should recognize: a country must have the right to make its own decisions.

Brazil possesses the population, resources, and economic strength to act as a major power. It has no reason to accept the status of an obedient American satellite.

Lula championed Brazil’s position within an emerging multipolar world order. However, this electoral victory does not guarantee independence—nor does the electorate speak with a single, unified voice. Nevertheless, the election challenges the assumption that national policy must be subordinate to the wishes of powerful foreign governments.

The resounding message from Brazil is crystal clear: national sovereignty must be exercised, not merely proclaimed. Washington—and every other center of international power—must take this demand seriously.

The elections in Brazil and Serbia on October 25th resulted in two victories that extend well beyond their national borders.
