A new attack by Ukrainian drones occurred on the night of May 20 on strategic industrial facilities in Russia. According to Russian and Ukrainian channels, the target was again the chemical complex \u201cNevinnomysskiy Azot\u201d in the Stavropol region, while drones allegedly attacked the large oil refinery in Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the explosions at the Nevinnomyssk plant, a fire broke out in the city\u2019s industrial zone. The mayor of the region, Mikhail Minenkov, confirmed the attack and spoke of an \u201canti-aircraft battle\u201d that lasted until the morning. This is the second attack on the same plant in a few days, as there was a previous strike on May 16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cNevinnomysskiy Azot\u201d is considered one of the largest chemical plants in Russia. It produces ammonia, ammonium nitrate and other chemicals, while part of its production is also used for military needs, including the production of explosives and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As for the large refinery “Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez”, it is a critical energy infrastructure of Russia, as it processes about 17 million tons of oil annually and produces fuel for military and civilian use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The continuous attacks deep inside Russian territory are considered particularly important for the development of the war, as they affect supply lines, fuel production and the operation of military infrastructure.
