Iran is deeply upset with its “big” friends, who left it defenseless. They believe that Beijing and Moscow are once again playing the role of “Pontis Pilate”, something that, at The Liberal Globe, we were sure would happen and expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Russian military power – “Myths and realities”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Four full years have passed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, in February 2022, and Russia has occupied 20% of its territory, i.e. 120,000 square kilometers, an area slightly smaller than that of Greece, at a time when many analysts were predicting a brief victory for Putin’s forces and the complete occupation of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the Black Sea, Russia has not managed, despite the virtual non-existence of the Ukrainian Fleet, to have naval dominance, mainly thanks to the murderous strikes of Ukrainian sea drones (USV) against large surface ships of the Russian fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, in the air, we have long heard of substantial action by the Russian Air Force and effective assistance in land operations, with the occupation of territories in the Donbas by the Russian army recently taking place at a very slow pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We must also not forget the Iranian assistance with drones and the North Korean with thousands of artillery shells and soldiers on the battlefield, to the benefit of Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Essentially, the war in Ukraine is being waged by the belligerents primarily through drones and surface-to-surface missiles, with high-ranking Russian officials occasionally threatening Ukraine and the West with nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What do we conclude from all of the above:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Verification of Winston Churchill’s words, “Russia is not as strong as it claims to be, but neither is it as weak as we would like it to be.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n The “smokeless” China<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Finally, while much is said and written about the emerging superpower China, which wants to challenge the global dominance of the US, we have to say that the fighter jets – warships – missiles – drones it manufactures have not been tested in battle, with the personnel of its Armed Forces, in fact, lacking combat experience, having fought for essentially half a century, since Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In general, China is “smokeless”, more or less reminiscent of Russia before the war in Ukraine, where many predicted that Putin would occupy it all in a few weeks\u2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Iran is deeply upset with its “big” friends, who left it defenseless.
