These portraits and views of home reveal, like no other body of work, the intensity and psychological depth that define Giacometti\u2019s approach to representation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition is enriched by photographs by Ernst Scheidegger, Giacometti\u2019s close friend and collaborator, who first met the artist in 1943 and documented his life and work over several decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scheidegger\u2019s photographs from the 1950s and \u201860s also trace the landscapes of the Bregaglia and Engadin valleys\u2014the mountains, paths and changing light that defined Giacometti\u2019s enduring sense of place. Together with the works on view by Giacometti, the exhibition forms a visual bridge between the artist\u2019s public and private selves: between the modernist of Montparnasse and the son of the Alps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">December 13, 2025 \u2013 March 28, 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>BODO (NORWAY) <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-42a981f7b8e82b300e4984ac7fbbf901\"><strong>Exhibition: <em>Adelsteen Normann &#8211; Impressionist of the North<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"716\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liberalglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-110-1024x716.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.liberalglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-110-1024x716.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.liberalglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-110-300x210.png 300w, https:\/\/www.liberalglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-110-768x537.png 768w, https:\/\/www.liberalglobe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/image-110.png 1431w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To highlight Adelsteen Normann\u2019s artistic work, the exhibition&nbsp;<em>Adelsteen Normann: Impressionist of the North<\/em>&nbsp;will be organised as part of the ongoing collaboration between the <strong>Nordic Institute of Art&nbsp;(NIA)<\/strong> and <strong>Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum (Northern Norway Art Museum)<\/strong>, taking place at the museum in Bod\u00f8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition <em>Adelsteen Normann: Impressionist of the North<\/em>&nbsp;will offer new perspectives on Normann\u2019s oeuvre, placing him in a broader art historical context. In conjunction with the exhibition, a seminar featuring relevant and international viewpoints on Adelsteen Normann&#8217;s work will take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition, curated by NIA\u2019s Dr. Knut Lj\u00f8godt, will feature 70 of Normann\u2019s paintings as well as a series of his drawings. A selection of works by his contemporaries will also be included, to contextualise his oeuvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The core part of the exhibition will be drawn from Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum&#8217;s major collection of Normann\u2019s work.
