Denmark is proposing a groundbreaking (!) copyright law that legally grants citizens explicit property rights to their own face, voice, and body. The initiative is a direct response to the growing threat of AI-generated deepfakes and unauthorized digital copies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The legislation aims to establish a clear legal framework where an individual\u2019s biometric data is considered personal property. This would give Danes control over [and potentially monetize] their digital image, while also providing a stronger legal basis for damages claims when their image or voice is used without consent to create AI content.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The law seeks to combat malicious deepfakes used for fraud, harassment, or non-consensual pornography. It is an important step in updating intellectual property rights for the age of artificial intelligence, prioritizing individual autonomy over each person’s digital identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And of course we agree – as The Liberal Globe – with such an initiative, to limit the negative effects of artificial intelligence on our lives and especially on the lives of future generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If an organization or political formation or state appeared just eighty years ago, requesting legislation based on which the citizen would ensure that he owns\u2026 his nose\u2026 his ears or his head, it is certain that people in white coats would lock them up in some institutions to treat their mental health. Today, however\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today, something like this is necessary!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let us note that we are fans of technological evolution. We believe that it is part of human culture and has significant effects on our lives. But the same applies to technology as to weapons. They can be used for self-defense, justice and protection, just as easily as they can be used for attack, crime and threat. This means that the impact must be controlled and not uncontrolled. There must be rules and education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Societies must be able to assimilate a specific technology before it progresses to the next step. Otherwise, they are created airtight with excluded people. Something like this is happening today. The imposition of technology on our daily lives, and especially AI, has left a large part of our fellow citizens in a gray area, a foggy path, where the inability to understand and use technologies creates insecurity and fear. The cohesion of society is thus disrupted. Of course, the leadership knows this. And they are not interested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we mentioned above, technology is part of our culture. Not the whole! This is what leaders everywhere are trying to impose on us. That culture is technology. Something that for those who have minimal contact with culture [and technology] is a joke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Culture is not, for example, not knowing how to spell and having AI correct your writing \u2013 culture is writing correctly, understanding the grammar and rules that have shaped the word you use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The world needs technology and science. And promoting them is a noble sport. However. It is historically proven that the world primarily needs culture in general. Thought, not its deactivation. Empathy, not cold calculation. Art in all its forms, is what has survived through the centuries, and not some machines that were necessary at a certain time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Today’s technology is largely controversial. And this is because it has been inextricably linked to consumerism. While the technology of the past was mainly linked to need and especially social need. When Archimedes built the screw, he did not do it to sell pumps for swimming pools in Los Angeles, but to meet irrigation needs. Today, any technological discovery [even in Medicine] if it does not bring money, will not be produced. So the technological civilization that they are trying to impose on us as a Savior is nothing more than a one-eyed Cyclops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And a Cyclops in fact that needs legislative regulations to own his.. eye\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And don’t miss another danger. In the business world, it is a common secret that registering a patent is the best way to avoid copying from the competition! All the necessary information is given to make modifications and “smart routes” so that the patented product can be copied legally. The same will apply here. The law, although correct and unfortunately necessary, will inevitably provide the map to find ways out of its commitments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
