However, within just three months, the situation changed dramatically. Gabbard, despite the intelligence community’s advice, found herself publicly at odds with her own president—a pattern that reveals a disturbing trend: Donald Trump’s blind allegiance to Israel, even at the expense of his closest advisors and associates.

It should be noted here that Gabbard was chosen for this position as a trusted figure who would now provide accurate and objective information to the new President. Trump very clumsily shattered this image.

The Contradiction Between Intelligence and Policy

Gabbard, in a hearing before the House Intelligence Committee, emphasized that “Iran is not developing a nuclear weapon” and that Supreme Leader Khamenei “has not authorized the restart of the nuclear program that was suspended in 2003.” This position, however, was categorically refuted by Trump himself, who told reporters: “I don’t care what [Gabbard] said. I think they are very close to getting [a nuclear weapon].”

This confrontation is not an isolated incident. It is part of a clear pattern: Trump, despite the insistence of the intelligence agencies or even his close associates, tends to subordinate American foreign policy to the demands of Israel, often without logic or evidence.

The Iran Nuclear Crisis

Israel has focused for decades on the “threat of a nuclear Iran.” Israeli governments have repeatedly pressed the US to implement tougher policies, including sanctions and military threats.

Trump, despite the DNI’s assessments, chooses to reinforce the Israeli narrative, even when the data contradicts it. This creates a dangerous dynamic: information is ignored when it does not fit the Israeli line.

Moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem (2018)

One of Trump’s first moves in his first term was to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, despite warnings that this would lead to unrest in the Middle East.

In the context of his second term (2025), support for Israel has become even more overt, with new unilateral moves possible (e.g., recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank).

Conflict with Palestinian Rights

Trump has repeatedly denounced UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East), accusing it of “anti-Israel propaganda.”

At the same time, his administration has drastically reduced financial aid to the Palestinians, indirectly reinforcing Netanyahu’s hardline policies.

Israeli favored individuals (such as Sheldon Adelson, before his death) were among Trump’s biggest donors.

In 2025, with the neoconservative wing of the GOP controlling Congress, Trump’s policy is even more dependent on the Israeli line.

The Ideological Convergence with Zionism

Trump and his allies see Israel as a “bulwark against Islamic extremism,” a theory that ignores the real geopolitical dynamics.

Despite his “America First” slogan, Trump often acts “Israel First” – a contradiction that bothers even his loyalists.

The Danger of a Stray Foreign Policy

The Trump-Gabbard Conflict is Not Just a Disagreement. It’s a Sample of the Undermining of Democratic Institutions:

Intelligence Agencies Are Discredited When They Don’t Align with the Political Agenda. Foreign Policy is Determined by Foreign Governments, Not by American Interests. The Big Question: Where Does This Lead?

If Trump Continues to Discard DNI Information in Favor of Israel, the Consequences Could Be Catastrophic:

The Triggering of New Conflicts (e.g., Military Confrontation with Iran).

The U.S. Being Blackmailed by Israel into Even More Extreme Policies.

Internal Division in the U.S. Administration, with Information Being Considered “Hostile” if It Doesn’t Please the White House. A Trend to Worry

The Gabbard-Trump Affair is Not Just a Political Dispute. It is a symptom of a deeper disease: blind submission to foreign interests, at the expense of reason, democracy, and American security.

The question that remains is: How far will this trend go before America awakens from its slumber?

In March 2025, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard presented an assessment of Iran that initially seemed aligned with the Trump administration’s policy:…

[3,826
655,4774,153,70
post-24828","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-geopolitical","category-usa-geopolitical","tag-donald-trump","tag-intelligence","tag-israel","tag-usa
["GET
