The United States, through statements and actions, clearly shows its will to distance itself from NATO. Given that the alliance was born from the USA and obeys or at least supports the commands of America and given that NATO has now lost its meaning of existence, it is quite possible that we are experiencing the last \u201cdays\u201d of the alliance. The hysteria against Russia is not enough to justify NATO, especially since the USA has long targeted China as the first threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is particularly interesting is that if the Alliance does not eventually dissolve, it seems that the United Kingdom is working intensively towards being the one that will assume the leadership or at least the position of CEO in the next \u201clife\u201d of NATO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The prevailing trend for \u201cre-arming Europe\u201d will play a crucial role in the survival or not of the North Atlantic Alliance. If rearmament leads to the real and operationally capable formation of the much-discussed European Army, then NATO will cease to function. Of course, the issue of Europe\u2019s armed armor and self-sufficiency is a huge argument and requires decades. And NATO\u2019s operational structure in Europe exists and functions. So it makes more sense to maintain it, since a replacement would face many challenges and obstacles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A major issue is also the human staffing of a \u201cnew armed Europe\u201d since the decades-long internationalist policy of socialist and center-left governments on the old continent has cultivated a morbid anti-militaristic to anarchist perception, which in turn has created a desert in the military ranks of the armed forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The position of the United Kingdom outside the EU is absolutely ideal for placing itself at the head of a NATO redesign. Being outside, it can completely autonomously handle its war machine and proceed with actions, policies and alliances that the EU, in order to achieve, must first achieve the unanimity of all member states. Therefore, a Britain at the helm of NATO will be in a key position that will allow it to upgrade its geostrategic role. Something that the British ardently want and that has always made them suffocate as a member of the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Inevitably, a dark thought arises. Could the notorious Brexit have been a plan B for NATO’s next day? Was the fact that the UK never adopted the euro a prerequisite for its easy removal from Brussels? Because if the British economy operated with the euro, then it is certain that a withdrawal would have much more serious costs and a much longer “recovery” time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So, while Brexit was presented as a rebellion by the British, was it ultimately the implementation of an insurance policy that would allow for the easy removal of the US but also the simultaneous maintenance of a shadowy control over the Alliance, since the UK can easily be convinced by the US to support American interests, since at least 55% of its exports are destined for the US? {almost \u00a360 billion in 2024}<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We note here that the famous tariffs that the new Trump administration is imposing worldwide, with regard to the UK, are only 10%, that is, almost 4% more than they were before and on average 3.4% more than what the US pays!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thus, the financially strapped US today avoids funding the costly NATO organization but maintains a high level of oversight and now has only advantages without cost. And they can focus, financially and operationally, on the number 1 (in their opinion) enemy, China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
