These homogeneous consumer attitudes are the same whether consumers live in Italy (EU), China, US and Australia etc.

It is a fact that consumer behaviour is adjusted according to the course of a crisis and whether the crisis response measures in the current situation are being tightened due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These consumer phases are classified in six in the number ranging from the beginning of the crisis to the suspension of the measures imposed.

by Thanos S. This increase in consumer purchases focuses on long-lasting products and vitamins.

Phase 2

In the second phase where it is announced that the problem is on the rise in the population and that, in the case of a contagious virus, citizens should obtain individual means of protection, then starts the mass purchases for both protective masks, gloves, antiseptic headscarves and first aid items is increasing, while the purchases of fruit with a high vitamin C content are increasing.

Phase 3

With the announcement of the official state that deaths of patients from the contagious virus are increasing, then the “induction” of consumers to supermarkets begins in order to store as much of as possible in volume long-lasting foods such as spaghetti, rice, honey, oil, flour, canned etc. but also toilet and kitchen papers and more.

Phase 4

When the state official announces the first emergency restraining order to limit the increase in the number of carriers. This is the consumer phase when consumers are starting to prepare for a restrictive living in their own home, which is why they are drastically increasing online product purchases while restricting their movements to physical stores. That’s when the first supply chain shortages begin to appear.

Phase 5

Here we are in the lockdown and social isolation phase. At this stage the official state imposes strict restrictions on living or at work and of course suspending the operation of many businesses, public transportation services and restricting the movement of citizens outside urban centres. Restricting movements also imposes a drastic reduction in consumer visits to physical stores.

Phase 6

The last phase is the one in which the measures imposed are gradually lifted and the gradual return to normality begins. At this stage, society gradually returns to the normality of everyday life begins and partially removes the restrictive measures imposed.

However, consumers remain frightened and more interested in their health, but having long-lasting food, they do not visit physical shops for purchases but do online shopping. At the same time, purchases for health and immune-boosting products are increasing.

The opportunities created by the forced changes in consumer habits enable businesses to re-operate to change their strategy and adapt to new data based mainly on online shopping and the delivery of their things to the relevant consumers of whatever type of product.

The new changes mainly require the delivery of food and vegetables but also groceries to the consumer’s residence. Businesses must therefore adapt their capabilities to the service of the citizen by carrying out the order in a few hours.

The current unprecedented crisis experienced by humanity as a result of the Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic brings to the surface a homogeneous consumer behaviour for…

[859,5
1616,1617
post-2228","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-economics","category-economic","tag-consumer-attitude","tag-social-restrictions
["GET
