Jean-Marie Le Pen, this legendary Breton, left full of days, after a turbulent life. Le Pen, was a lawyer, soldier, writer and politician. He was a combination of a man of action and theory.

As a young teenager, he tried to join the French resistance in World War II but was not accepted due to his age. Later, as an officer of the Legion, he was honored with the following distinctions/decorations:

Officer of the French Foreign Legion

Cross for Military Valour

Croix du combattant

Colonial Medal

Indochina Campaign commemorative medal

North Africa Security and Order Operations Commemorative Medal

Middle-East operations commemorative medal

He served in Indochina, Suez and Algeria. He also formed, at his own expense, a group of 40 young people from his University, and in 1953, volunteers went to help the Netherlands in the devastating floods that struck it, as well as in Rome, in the equally devastating earthquakes.

He was elected many times to municipal positions and as a member of parliament and to the European Parliament. A politician with nationalist ideas who never minced his words, despite the relentless persecution by the system (countless legal entanglements for silencing) and the continuous attacks (mainly bombs) against him and his family.

He openly accused President de Gaulle of, “He took care to make France smaller”. Also President Chirac of, “He is financed by the Israeli secret services”. He was a Holocaust denier who often called it a fraud and regarding de Gaulle and Petain, he once stated in Parliament: “Was de Gaulle braver than Petain? I doubt it. I think that at that time it was much easier to resist from London than from France”.

As a member of parliament, he suspended his term to rejoin the Legion and fight in Algeria. He was the founder of the famous “Front National”, the party that kept Nationalist Politics alive in post-war Europe, in very difficult years. His daughter, Marine Le Pen, continues his legacy, and today, together with Jordan Bardella, leads the “Rasseblement National” [National Rally], as the National Front has been renamed in our days, with aspirations to power in France.

When he left the Front National, he founded the political organization “Bleu – Blanc – Rouge” a name he took from the colors of the French Flag. The organization organizes a congress of patriots every year, which brings together all the nationalist parties and movements of France and with participation from the rest of Europe.

Jean-Marie Le Pen was an ardent philhellene and married to the Greek-born Jany Paschos (second wife). He had many times supported Greece in the European Parliament and was devoted to the idea of peaceful cooperation of brotherly European States, strictly denouncing the European Union as a “Union of Banks and not Peoples”.

He was a man who proved that anyone who wants to live an adventurous life of service can do it. Anyone who wants to remain faithful to the Ideas and Values of the European Man can do it. It is enough for him to dedicate his labor, property, and personal integrity to the service of the Nation and the Homeland.

Jean-Marie Le Pen, died at the age of 96. He fought all his life. He was one of the last French politicians of importance, one of the nationalist fighters of the Old Guard. The “new” must urgently create its own.

The first days of 2025, deprived Europe of one of its champions, one of its tireless defenders.
