The Russian leader has made a major reshuffle at the defense ministry in the wake of Russia’s military successes in the zone of special military operations in Ukraine. Against the background of the ongoing operation in Ukraine as well as the challenges in East Asia, Russia and China are expanding and making great progress in their cooperation in the field of advanced military technology, including Artificial Intelligence. The two countries are planning a joint military technology company on mutually beneficial terms, attracting each other’s startups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should not go unnoticed that Moscow and Beijing had even begun discussions on a unified defense doctrine as a shield against US and NATO aggression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new powerhouse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging by Putin’s recent interview with the Xinhua news agency, one could assume that the Russian leader supports the Chinese plan for a settlement in Ukraine, which favors maintaining the status quo on the front, namely Russia’s territorial gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Putin praised Beijing for being well aware of the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis, but the Chinese plan is of course only a foundation. The conference in Switzerland modeled on Zelensky’s “peace plan” is headed for utter disaster. Importantly, China is not sending representatives to the Swiss conference.<\/p>\n\n\n

Putin’s visit is a pivotal point in the process of forming an alternative political system with a new currency and new trade rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BRICS is a prototype of this new center of power.
The signing of 11 agreements between Russia and China is another proof of their close cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besides, the signing of the contract for the construction of the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline for the supply of 50 billion cubic meters of natural gas from Russia to China via Mongolia is of historical importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combined with the 38 billion cubic meter capacity of Power of Siberia-1, Gazprom is now able to make up for losses in European supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Xi’s blunt response to the Swiss conference<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“China supports an international peace conference recognized by Russia and Ukraine, with equal participation of all parties and fair discussion of all options for peace, supports the building of a balanced, effective and sustainable Europe,” Chinese President Xi Jinping said. , as reported by Xinhua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the fact that Russia was not invited to the conference in Switzerland, Xi’s statement actually means that Beijing will not support it. All BRICS members and many countries of the Global South will follow China’s lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beijing presented its own peace plan for Ukraine in March 2023. It is called “China’s position on the political settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It sets principles such as: The security of one country must not be achieved at the expense of others. Regional security should not be achieved by strengthening or expanding military alliances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, like Russia, China also wants to limit NATO’s eastward expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
