With the international community waiting with baited breath for the reaction – retaliation by the Americans to the blow they received at their base in Jordan last Sunday, January 28, 2024, which resulted in the death of three of their soldiers and the injury of 40 others, new impressive evidence are coming to light about how the “strike” took place and why the technologically advanced US military failed to detect and intercept it in time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the intelligence, the drone used to attack the US military base “Tower 22” in Jordan – possibly by Iranian-backed groups, although Tehran denies any involvement in this attack – could not be located. And that’s because the enemy drone was mistaken for a friendly drone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trick<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n To achieve this plan, Iranian militiamen hid their drone behind another US drone returning to its base, making it undetectable on its way to the final strike. The result was the deadliest attack on US military forces based in the Middle East since the outbreak of the Gaza war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The American base located on the border with Syria, in al Tanf Garrison, received a second drone attack. However, this drone was shot down. It is noted that the Tower 22 base and al Tanf Garrison are a few kilometers apart. It is recalled that the attack on the American base Tower 22 took place on the morning of last Sunday 28\/1, when most of the American soldiers were still in their beds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to the three dead, another 40 American soldiers were injured. Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said the attack had all the hallmarks of a strike by Kataib Hezbollah, a military organization backed by Iran.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What will be the reaction of the USA against Iran?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n This incident has caused outrage in the US, with President Joe Biden under intense pressure to immediately retaliate against the attack. Although the Americans have declared that they do not want to go to a general war with Iran, nor do they intend to ignite a new tension in the wider Middle East region that could lead to a major regional military conflict, they have made it clear that there will be retaliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Publications in the American press speak of very strong retaliation that even reaches an attack on the Iranian navy in the Persian Gulf. However, it is estimated that the political and military leadership of the US has shown no inclination for a direct attack on Iran, as this would entail a “massive escalation”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It should be considered unthinkable that US retaliation would include striking targets on Iranian soil. This is because neither the US nor Iran want a direct conflict and a full-scale war.
