NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said NATO must be ready to hear “bad news” from Ukraine. These were some of the words of the head of the Western alliance during his statements in an interview he gave on Sunday, December 3, on the ARD channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Boosting ammunition production is critical, Stoltenberg stressed, adding that NATO countries have not been able to meet the increased demand for missiles for Kiev. Stoltenberg said Ukraine was now in a “critical situation”, but declined to say what he would suggest Kiev do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also commented on the challenges currently facing European defense industries. The head of the Western defense alliance said that it is in Europe’s interest and an opportunity to create new jobs to strengthen the continent’s defense industry. He added that it is very important not to increase the cost of ammunition now that their demand has skyrocketed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stoltenberg emphasized the fact that no significant developments have taken place on the battlefield in recent months, but refused to predict what will happen next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
