In more and more countries around the world, the percentages of right-wing parties are increasing rapidly, with the latest example being Argentina, where Javier Millay appeared – literally – out of nowhere and won over the centrist Patricia Bullrich and the Peronists of Sergio Massa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Javier Millay collected 30.04% in the elections and advanced to the next round (to be held in October), a result that surprised many analysts, as he is essentially an economist, who himself says he comes from from “oppositional caste”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In Argentina he is known for his analyses, as he appeared in the media in recent years and talked about the country’s economy (in Argentina, football and the economy are almost exclusively the only discussions) which is going from bad to worse. Fervent, provocative many times, a good orator, with a sense of humor and definitely radical, he managed to win over his audience with the clever spots, with which he cauterized the political situation in Argentina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Javier Millay has a lot in common with Donald Trump, he is a patriot, his motto is to make Argentina great again (according to Donald Trump’s Let’s make America great again), he defends all human freedoms, the freedom of self-determination and of being able to do what you want with your body (s. very important when we have recently experienced compulsions with Covid-19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he himself is negative about abortion. “We are characterized by the defense of the right to life, property and freedom,” he said in an interview. At the same time, he is in favor of free gun ownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His policies are a break with the politics that have “plagued” Argentina for so many years. “Everyone leave”, as the citizens shouted in the streets of Buenos Aires 20 years ago. The “lion”, as he is called because of his mane, calls other politicians “parasites, useless, thieves”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He states that Argentina of 115% inflation per year should change its currency and go to the dollar. Here we should note that prices in the Latin American country are rising rapidly every day as the currency falls. A dollar can be 20-30% more valuable within a month or so, or to be more precise the Argentine peso can lose its value by 20-30% within a few weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many Argentine citizens are turning to the black market to exchange their pesos for dollars so that they have a stable currency in their pocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Of course, the prices they give them on the black market have nothing to do with the real ones, but the government has enacted a law that does not allow a citizen to buy more than 400 dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Young people voted for him en masse<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Javier Millay managed to win over the young people, the 16 and 17 year olds who voted for the first time and want a better future, who want to build their lives in Argentina and not have to immigrate to another country, as they probably have done their older siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, he is not the first right-winger to win over the youth.
