John Sopko, Inspector General of the United States Reconstruction Agency in Afghanistan, revealed that the amount of money the US will spend on Ukraine by the end of 2023 will exceed the money spent on the entire Marshall Plan and added how Ukraine it is a country that is almost as corrupt as Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After this revelation, the downgrading of the USA by Fitch is completely understandable, as the economic problem of the Americans has even greater dimensions than some analysts want to see (who don’t want Washington to be “sad”).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“We are spending more money in Ukraine now in one year than we spent in about 12 years in Afghanistan, and by the end of 2023, we will spend more money in Ukraine than we spent to prepare the entire Marshall Plan after World War II” \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Simply put, the Americans are forced to constantly print billions of dollars at a time when dozens of countries are trying to exclude it from their economic transactions so that there is no possibility of being sanctioned by the US if they do not like the foreign or domestic the policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are inflationary dollars that are currently creating a major problem in the American economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the problems Sopko identified in overseeing the cost of rebuilding Afghanistan were a lack of coordination of these efforts and a lack of understanding of the end goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He points out that in the case of Ukraine, the situation is even more complicated as more parties are involved, including US agencies and international donors and organizations. In addition, he also noted that both Afghanistan and Ukraine are deeply corrupt countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Most troubling for American taxpayers, however, is that Sopko revealed that Americans spend about $2.5 billion a month on security assistance to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By comparison, the US spent only $375 million a month on security assistance in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As of February 2022, the Biden administration has committed more than $75 billion in various types of aid to Ukraine, with nearly $50 billion spent on weapons and related military equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The astronomical total spending in Ukraine will only increase significantly if you consider that in July alone, the Ukrainian military lost 20,824 soldiers and 2,227 weapon systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
