What do you do with an otherwise great vehicle if it doesn’t show enough range that you don’t need to charge it very often?

Toyota, which has always tried to satisfy its customers, knows exactly what people want. For this reason, it announced that its solid-state batteries will offer the company’s future electric vehicles a range of more than 1,450 kilometers (or more than 900 miles). And of course, all those kilometers on just one charge.

Toyota’s statement came at a time when the automotive world considers the Japanese company to be “left behind” in the field of batteries and electric motors, losing ground. However, the company’s new positions come to disprove these rumors, showing that serious developments have been taking place in Japan lately. Toyota seems determined to launch electric vehicles that will excel in today’s market, dethroning even bigger players.

Along with the above statement, Toyota revealed a full blueprint for its future electric vehicles, proving that while it’s only a little late, it intends to catch up with the electric competition very soon. Its ambitions are to surpass its competitors by the end of the decade, since by then it will have launched two brand new solid-state batteries. Until then, however, a new lithium-ion battery pack will be launched in 2026, which will demonstrate an equally impressive range.

New Generation Battery Coming Soon

As we mentioned above, the Japanese have prepared a brand new release, just before revealing their new solid-state batteries. In 2026 they will therefore present us with their new generation of lithium-ion batteries, which are based on the company’s improved existing Lithium Nickel Cobalt Manganese (NCM) technology. They are said to offer a 20 percent increased driving range, while reducing production costs by a similar percentage.

On a full charge, these batteries will provide nearly 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) of range. With these in its “arsenal”, Toyota wants to expand its fleet of electric vehicles, while giving its customers a better driving experience and lower costs (at least on paper).

Two versions of this battery will be released: one in 2026 and one in 2027. One will be a performance version and the other will be the base version.

Undoubtedly, when we talk about electrification one of the most important things that comes to mind (perhaps the most important for many) is autonomy….

[620,946,2956
1412,4426,4425,4427,4424
post-14320","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-business","category-companies","category-industries","tag-automotive-industry","tag-batteries","tag-electromobility","tag-solid-state-batteries","tag-toyota
["GET
