A few days ago it became known that the Chinese Space Agency (CSA) is examining ways of exploiting the local materials of the Moon for their use as construction materials in the creation of buildings (bases, houses, etc.) on our natural satellite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now the CSA is detailing China’s road map in trying to create conditions for the country’s permanent settlement on the Moon. Beijing wants to launch a manned mission to our physical satellite by the end of the decade at the latest and have astronaut accommodation facilities in place immediately. As part of this objective, three missions to the Moon (Chang’e 6, 7 and 8) will be carried out which, among other things, will search for suitable areas to create bases and accommodation as well as the materials that could be used for this purpose . The CSA plans to use 3D printing technology to create these facilities, and the three missions will examine whether this is feasible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The CSA also announced the Tianwen-2 mission, whose spacecraft will approach asteroid 2016HO, land on it and collect samples for study. The asteroid follows an elliptical orbit around the Sun which at some point brings it relatively close to Earth and if the mission is successful it will be the first asteroid moving in the interplanetary space of our solar system to be sampled. If all goes well with asteroid 2016HO the mission craft will continue its journey to visit space rocks in our solar system’s main asteroid belt which lies between Mars and Jupiter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that China has concluded an agreement with Russia for the creation of a joint manned base on the Moon, but it is not yet known whether the CSA’s announcements about the construction of facilities also refer to this base or whether it is a separate project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
