Recent reports that Russian spy ships are active off British shores are causing strong fears of a Russian attack in Britain. Five interconnectors deliver electricity to and from the UK and Europe (for more information please read the analyses entitled “The Stages-Phases of the Hybrid War<\/a>“, “Modern Hybrid War and Grey<\/a>” and “Russia’s New Generation Warfare & Its Disadvantages<\/a>“).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Undersea communication cables as well as wind farms that ensure energy security in Great Britain are fatally exposed to sabotage operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Current Russian military thinking sees conflict as the combination of military and non-military instruments of state power \u2013 the \u201cunification of everything\u201d \u2013 into a seamless whole to serve the Kremlin’s goals\u201d characterizing it as a \u201cform of total war, which uses everything from cyber-civilization to conventional conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Putin wants escalation with the West, without provoking a military response from NATO. The question is how and in what manner would the UK or NATO respond to shadowy groups carrying out cyber attacks across the UK, Europe and even the US resulting in physical damage or the destruction of fuel depots?
