The Russian Ministry of Defense noted the serious role of the Wagner PMC during the battles for the liberation of Soledar and stated that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Wagner’s units invaded the urban areas of the city directly,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. while regular Russian forces had blockaded the city from two directions and had cut off the transport of enemy reserves,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. at the same time as providing fire support for the Air and Artillery attack.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Will this new tactic be implemented in the future? Should the privateer Wagner cooperate and coordinate with the Russian tactical forces? It seems so. Because Wagner showed unique virtues in civil warfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The task of penetrating the city blocks controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine was successfully solved by the actions of the Wagner PMC assault detachments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    A heterogeneous military force, which included both Wagner units and units of the Russian Armed Forces, acted according to a single plan, which included the fulfillment of several combat missions. Between them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. The exclusion of Soledar from the north and the south,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. The isolation of the battle area in the city,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Blocking the transfer of reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from neighboring regions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Preventing the exit of the Ukrainian Army from the city.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Also, the aggressive advance of the troops was supported by air force and Artillery strikes on enemy positions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      In short, Wagner played the role of the “hammer” and the Russian tactical forces the role of the “anvil”. It is recalled that on Wednesday the founder of Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the takeover of Soledar. It was noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost 200 people while trying to retake the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Western media only acknowledged the fall of Soledar on Friday. The capture of Soledar is of great importance to the continuation of a successful offensive in the entire Donetsk region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In particular, it opens up the possibility of cutting off the supply routes of the Ukrainian troops in Artemovsk, located in the southwest, and then blocking in a “cauldron” the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that remain in this city. It should be emphasized that the Ukrainian Forces control only a small part of Soledar<\/p>\n\n\n\n
