State oil company NIOC announced that Iran&#8217;s Oil Minister Javad Ouji will release more details soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, following explorations carried out in an offshore &#8220;plot&#8221; off the country&#8217;s southern coast, Iranian experts have estimated that it contains 850 billion cubic meters of natural gas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the first time, in fact, Iran has built an aircraft for magnetometry missions, which can detect hydrocarbon deposits at a depth of up to 7 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft will survey about 1\/10 of Iran&#8217;s territory to collect data, according to an NIOC official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Iran is the fourth largest oil producer in the world &#8211; after Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and Canada &#8211; and has reserves of nearly 34 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new oil field has been discovered in southwestern Iran, the Tasnim news agency reports.
