The fact that the “nuclear scenario” was at the top of the agenda of the meeting between the two intelligence directors comes from both sides, at a time when Washington believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not revised the plans in the slightest of the use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine, even if it has been forced in recent days to withdraw in humiliation from Kherson.

The near disorderly retreat of the Russian army from Kherson, which has been under Russian occupation since March 8, has even angered Russian propagandists in Russia, possibly pushing the Russian President to extremes in order to reverse the negative mood in interior of his country. Trying to avoid a “kamikaze move”, the US is believed to have conveyed the White House’s message to prevent any form of nuclear threat to Moscow, as a “last warning” from Washington and regardless of the continuation of military operations on Ukrainian territory.

Xi Jinping’s warm handshake with Joe Biden during the work of the G20 Summit

Making the possibility of a “final warning” to the Kremlin even stronger is the timing, with the heads of the CIA and SVR respectively meeting yesterday moments after Chinese President Xi Jinping warmly shook hands with his American counterpart, Joe Biden during the work of the G20 Summit in Bali, shaking the Chinese leader’s previously tight embrace with President Putin.

With China once again turning its sights on the West as “unacceptable” the use of nuclear weapons, the prospect of Russian President Vladimir Putin himself “disarming” due to international isolation, then also disarming Russia’s nuclear warheads, has become rather it is necessary and urgent from the American side to indicate to Moscow any consequences of such a move, as it could be, for example, the indictment by the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

Among the few who were briefed on the high-level CIA-SRV contact before their heads arrived in Turkey were Ukrainian officials, as for Washington it means “nothing for Ukraine, without Ukraine,” although the Biden administration is expected to press hard on the followed by the Republican majority in the House of Representatives, which insists that there should be no “blank check” on US aid to Kyiv.

The messages of the results of the US Midterm elections

At the same time, the director of the CIA reportedly raised with his Russian counterpart the issue of the American citizens held by the Russian authorities, namely Brittney Greiner and Paul Whelan, proposing the exchange with a Russian national. It should be noted that the American President, Joe Biden, was asked about the issue in his first interview after the mid-term elections, announcing the taking of drastic initiatives for their release, which already took place yesterday, with Washington proposing to exchange them with a Russian citizen, in the context of the institutionalized exchange of prisoners.

In addition to the US-China rapprochement, the two US and Russian security chiefs also met in the shadow of the announcement of a new sanctions list by the US Treasury Department, which includes 14 individuals and 28 entities involved in supporting the of the Russian military-industrial complex, further intensifying the pressure on the Kremlin, as the majority of those on the list feature companies outside of Russia, i.e. based in Switzerland, Taiwan and France.

Finally, yesterday’s meeting brings closer the scenarios of Moscow’s “last chance” to renounce its nuclear arsenal by choosing the director of the CIA as the preeminent messenger of US messages. And this, because the head of the American secret services had gone to Moscow by order of President Biden at the end of 2021, when the USA had begun to observe the transfer of Russian troops around Ukraine, to warn the president from the American side Putin about the possibility of attacking his neighboring country, a warning that Russia’s strongman completely ignored.

In the building of the Turkish Intelligence Service (MIT), in Ankara, the two “invisible” people of the planet met yesterday, the director of the…

[836,3
161,58,1156,215,70
post-10849","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-asia-geopolitical","category-geopolitical","tag-china","tag-russia","tag-ukraine","tag-us","tag-usa
["GET
