Firstly because labor costs in Europe are higher, secondly because European green growth policy makes Europe unfriendly to industry and thirdly because the cost of energy in Europe is very high. These, they say, are driving industries out of Europe and will leave a large production gap, unemployment, imports of all products and poverty.

At the same time, the contradiction between the monetary policy carried out by the ECB by raising interest rates to limit demand and reduce inflation, creating a recession, and the fiscal policy with allowances given by European governments – to support citizens and maintain the development- leads to a dead end.

Others point out that there is a huge labor and management problem in Europe because young people are reluctant to work because of low wages and high benefits, prefer part-time and casual jobs that leave them more free time, and see no long-term career prospects for the future. their. And older people tend to retire earlier because it is difficult to change jobs in their 50s, as too many jobs are lost due to technology eliminating entire professions.

Under these conditions they are led to the conclusion that Europe will be impoverished because it will have no industry and will import everything, that the energy crisis will last forever, that states will go bankrupt due to subsidies and debt, that high interest rates will suffocate businesses and households.

As for the US, they describe with horror the possibility of the Republicans gaining ground in the midterm elections because there are many senators who question the Republic – like Trump himself. In fact, according to the well-known thinker Harari, the end of Democracy in the USA is near, while some columnists predict that the next one will be the last democratic elections in the USA if Trump wins. Regarding the evolution of the war, they predict its expansion, generalization into a world war and perhaps even nuclear destruction. In short, if you combine all this information from mainstream media and leading thinkers, you see either the end of the world or hell.

Fortunately for all of us, though, scenarios usually don’t play out based on worst-case predictions. On the contrary and while everything leads to destruction, humanity is saved at the last moment, finding ways out of impasses, agreements in negotiations, new options that replace the old and thus continues its course and moves to new conditions and new data. This applies to the entire world except the US. USA is saved by superheroes. And while all these articles that blacken our souls are valid and documented, seeing today as the absolute dead end for tomorrow is not usually the right perspective.

So if Europe deindustrializes, which has already been happening for decades and is accelerating today, still not all industries will disappear, not all workers will be unemployed. A large part of the European GDP will be spent on services of all kinds, gradually polluting sources of energy will be replaced by others, although this process will take time and have a very high cost, young people will be employed in jobs different from those we have known until now .

The different policies pursued by the European Central Bank and by national political leaders will sooner or later converge to address the problems, although now this contradiction is paradoxical and exacerbates the problems of businesses and households.

Inflation will recede when its root causes, mainly related to wartime energy costs, disappear, and Europe may suffer for a few more years, but it will probably escape impoverishment. Even if the current European leaderships are – to put it politely – inadequate, the need will bring forth new ones that will have the required qualifications to solve the problems. And the new generations will also make their world the way they want it and the way they can so that even if it differs from the one we lived in previous decades, it will work – however paradoxical it may seem to us older people.

For the end of Democracy in the USA, let’s remember the saying that “In Democracies there are no dead ends”.

As far as war is concerned, it now appears that the Russians are beginning to put water in their wine, have backed down on the grain issue, are saying that nuclear war must be avoided at all costs, and seem more tentative about closing a deal that will stop the war. What this could be is not visible so far, it will have to be accepted by the Ukrainians and the US, but in the end not everyone is crazy about getting involved in a new world war that will undoubtedly be nuclear.

Humanity will probably be spared, as it has been spared until now, the suffering for some years is a given, but we have been through worse and finally we have to digest that the world is changing this millennium and a new, different one is being created, which is made by succeeding generations and which we the older ones need neither approve nor understand.

Diligent readers of the international press, and indeed of the biggest world media, are in danger of falling into a very deep depression about…

[390,819
1983,3832,3833,917,3370
post-10727","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-politics","category-usa","tag-economy","tag-gloom","tag-international-press","tag-media","tag-world
["GET
