NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has sharply criticized Vladimir Putin, pointing out that the Russian president made huge mistakes in the assessments he relied on to invade Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stoltenberg spoke, in particular, of “underestimation” – by Moscow – of the North Atlantic Alliance’s capabilities in terms of providing support to Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Putin made many and huge strategic mistakes,” the NATO secretary-general told reporters outside Downing Street during his visit to Britain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“He didn’t take into account that Ukrainians had so much courage and dedication to defend their country,” Stoltenberg said of Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The other mistake Putin made was underestimating NATO allies’ ability to support Ukraine,” the official added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“What we have seen from NATO allies is that they have provided unprecedented support to Ukraine. We see through polls and messages that people want support for Ukraine,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“There will always be different voices, but the main message is that there is a will to continue helping Ukraine,” he concluded.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
